Recorder Tascam DR 40

The recorder Tascam DR-40 offers 4-channel recording, adjustable built-in microphones, XLR microphone inputs, and extended battery life in a compact body. The sources for 4-channel recording can include built-in microphones, external microphones, and the line input signal of the recorder. High-quality built-in microphones can be positioned in two configurations: for XY and AB stereo recording. The DR-40 is equipped with a pair of original Tascam preamps that support phantom power. The maximum available recording specifications are 96kHz/24-bit. For connection, there are balanced combined Neutrik connectors – XLR or 6.3 mm Jack. Recording is done on SD or SDHC memory cards up to 32 GB. A 2 GB memory card is included.

After recording, you can play back the material, processing it with the built-in equalizer and optional Level Align function to increase the resulting sound pressure. The recorder has a built-in stereo reverb, speaker, and chromatic tuner. Connection to a computer is done via USB 2.0 port. Among other features, you can highlight overdub – layering a new recording over already recorded material, independent tempo and pitch change during playback, built-in limiter, high-pass filter, and many others.

4-channel recording:

• Ability to simultaneously record stereo signals from built-in and external microphones
• Ability to independently adjust the recording level of built-in and external microphones
• Non-destructive overdub function: You can record a stereo signal into a new file while simultaneously playing back existing material. Your new parts will not be added to existing recordings – they will be saved in a separate file.
• The Mixdown function allows mixing a stereo track from existing 4-channel recordings. Mixing is done considering the level, pan, and effects settings established for each channel.
