DBX 376.
Tube microphone preamplifier-dynamic processor with digital output dbx 376 - a single-channel comprehensive device with a digital output format of 24 bit/up to 96 kHz, consisting of a tube microphone preamplifier section, 3-band equalizer, compressor, and de-esser. The areas of application for dbx 376 are digital and analog recording of vocals and acoustic musical instruments. The connection interface allows for direct connection to digital and analog mixing consoles and multi-channel recording devices, as well as to professional digital workstations. The tube microphone preamplifier provides warmth and richness of tonal color, which is carefully preserved during conversion to a digital signal by the dbx Type IV(tm) system.dbx 376 - the latest model, incorporating many functional features of the Silver series to which it belongs:
phantom power source +48V,
phase switch,
low-cut filter,
digital outputs in AES/EBU and S/PDIF formats, operating at a sampling rate of 96 kHz.
On the front panel there is a high-impedance input (1/4" Jack socket) for connecting musical instruments, a signal selector (mic/line), and a -20 dB attenuator. All this provides extensive functionality for studio work. Visual monitoring of the processing is provided by multi-segment LED indicators. On the rear panel there are microphone and line analog inputs and outputs, a Word Clock sync signal input and output, a break socket, and digital outputs. There are options for selecting the sampling rate from 44.1 to 96 kHz, quantization bit depth (16, 20, or 24 bits), dithering algorithm type, and noise shaping, as well as separate level adjustments for digital and analog outputs. The low and high filters of the equalizer sections are shelving (central frequencies of 80 Hz and 12 kHz respectively), and the mid section features a parametric filter operating in the range from 100 Hz to 8 kHz (bandwidth of 1.5 octaves). Gain-reduction depth ranges from -15 to +15 dB. Additionally, there is a low-cut filter (75 Hz, 12 dB/octave). In the compressor section, the following adjustments are provided: threshold (from -40 dBu to +20 dBu), selection of the threshold curve characteristic (OverEasy or Hard Knee), compression ratio (from 1:1 to infinity to 1; maximum attenuation 60 dB). In 387, three options for values are provided.
