The Zoom TAC-2 audio interface/sound card is built on the latest Thunderbolt bus for high data transfer speed, minimal latency, and, of course, high-quality audio with specifications of 24 bit/192 kHz for recording and playback. In addition to the high-speed bus, the TAC-2 is equipped with high-quality components, namely Burr Brown PCM4202 (analog-to-digital) and AKM AK4396 (digital-to-analog) high-end converters. The interface is powered via the Thunderbolt bus and has the option to enable +48V phantom power when connecting condenser microphones.

The Zoom TAC-2 interface features two combo XLR/TRS balanced inputs located on the rear panel and one Hi-Z instrument input on the front panel. Balanced TRS outputs for connecting monitors. There is a separate headphone output. All adjustments are made with one large encoder located on top. A 7-segment Led indicator for monitoring input, output, and headphone signal levels.
