Behringer S32 – switching block with 32 Midas preamps and 16 outputs

The S32 stage box is one of the new products from Behringer, presented at the NAMM Show 2015. Unlike the S16 model, this device is equipped with 32 inputs with Midas preamps and 16 outputs. The new product can be used as a multicore with any analog mixer or in conjunction with the digital console X32 and personal monitoring system.

BEHRINGER S32 is an AES50 stage switching block equipped with 32 Midas preamps, 16 analog outputs, two AES/EBU digital interfaces, and two ADAT standard digital outputs. The block can be used as a standard multicore with any analog mixer or with the BEHRINGER X32 digital console, personal monitoring systems. The stage box has 32 Midas microphone preamps with programming function and 16 analog, balanced outputs with XLR connectors. To connect system controllers with digital inputs, the system has 2 AES-3 ports. The possibility of switching via Ethernet cable is implemented, with a connection length of up to 100 m. For software updates, a USB port can be used to connect to a PC. The system is powered by a universal power supply "Planet Earth", which ensures the operation of the stage box in any electrical networks (100 - 240 V). The housing of the block is made of steel, height - 3U.

Main features of the Behringer S32 switching block:

• 32 fully programmable Midas microphone preamps (which can be remotely controlled from X32) provide “audiophile” sound quality;

• USB port for software updates via PC;
• universal power supply “Planet Earth” ensures S32 operation in a wide voltage range (100…240 Volts), as well as “silent sound reproduction, excellent transient response, and low power consumption”;
• there is a mute function for all inputs “Mute-All-Inputs”;
• all-metal housing “Built like a tank”, occupying a height of 3U in a rack;
• this model comes with a three-year warranty from the manufacturer.
