The system's automatic frequency setup feature quickly finds and displays all available channels, making the system easy for less experienced users. Before opening a channel, the pilot tone feature will prevent unwanted startup noise; the receiver will open the audio if the pilot tone is detected.

The WMS 470 operates with 16 channels simultaneously in the same frequency band and with 48 channels using multiple frequency ranges. The transmitters are powered by one alkaline, lithium, or Ni-MH rechargeable battery, providing up to 14 hours of operation with lithium batteries. Additionally, the WMS 470 features a built-in dipole antenna for reliable transmission with an output power of 50 mW.
