TC-Helicon VoiceTone Harmony-G XT is far from the first device of its kind; one can recall various models of DigiTech Vocalist, capable of automatically generating vocal harmonies depending on the incoming guitar signal. Harmony-G XT is a successor to the TC-Helicon Harmony-G vocal effect and it also has some features of the more prestigious VoiceLive 2. It is designed to provide you with a variety of effects that will help enhance any vocal performance, including, among others, harmony generation, doubling effects, reverb, delay, compression, and automatic chromatic pitch correction.
The operation of Harmony-G XT is based on ten programmable presets distributed across five banks, as variations A and B. You can cycle through the banks using the preset switch and toggle between A and B modes by pressing the left pedal. Each preset can be built from several elements.
You get two harmony voices (Voice 1 and Voice 2), each of which can be selected from six options or simply be inactive. Voice 1 offers modes “higher”, “high”, “low”, “lower” and “bass” or raises harmonies by an octave, while Voice, on the contrary, gives a sound lowered by an octave.
You can also disable all effects or choose one of the reverb modes or one of the sound effects. The levels of effects and harmony voices are set by separate control knobs, and each effect is presented in several variations available for your selection.
