V250 is a small diaphragm FET condenser microphone produced by MXL

The V250 printed circuit board in the photos we have seen is identical to the MXL 2006 and MCA SP-1; this is the standard linear transformerless design from MXL, derived from a circuit developed by Schoeps.

The capsule is a standard MXL small diaphragm design mounted in a brass reflector ring. This '603S' capsule has a 17 mm diaphragm made of 6-micron mylar, mounted over a 20 mm OD backplate, inside a 22 mm OD housing. The capsule assembly is held together by a brass tension ring screwed from the back.

Essentially, the V250 is an SP-1 in a different housing. Thus, it is very receptive to aftermarket modifications, both in terms of capsule replacement and circuit upgrades. See commercial options on the side panel.
