The audio interface is perfect for podcasters who need a mixed function when receiving calls and is ideal for producers and small groups. This is an 18x8 USB interface that provides high-performance hardware, input expandability, adjustable microphone tone, and creativity. Four enhanced Scarlett microphone preamps are equipped with switchable phantom power, input attenuators, and a selectable Switchable Air option that adds brightness based on the legendary Focusrite ISA preamp. The first two combined XLR-1/4" inputs can accept unbalanced instrument level from guitars, basses, synthesizers, and drum machines or balanced line level from a mixer or external preamps, while combined inputs 3-4 support microphone or line sources.

On the back panel, there are four additional fixed-level 1/4" inputs for accommodating more line-level devices and an ADAT optical input for use with an external 8-channel analog-to-digital converter.

24-bit / 192 kHz converters provide capture and playback of signals with detail and clarity. With four balanced 1/4" line outputs/monitor outputs, two 1/4" stereo headphone jacks, and independent control of headphone and monitor volume settings, the Scarlett 18i8 can simultaneously support multiple monitoring systems and external effect processors. The virtual feedback function gives podcasters an easy “mix-minus” setup for receiving calls without distracting the calling party with delayed audio feedback. Traditional 5-pin MIDI I/O provides seamless integration of MIDI equipment such as keyboards or sound modules, and coaxial S/PDIF ports ensure proper routing of stereo digital devices.

The Scarlett 18i8 connects to a Mac or Windows computer via USB and is powered by an included external power supply. An extensive software package includes music production software, virtual instruments, plug-in effects, and more—a wealth of tools to inspire you.
