Roland DJ-202 is a two-channel four-deck DJ controller designed for use with Serato DJ software. The model combines professional features of a full-size controller in a compact portable body, making it an excellent choice for mobile DJs, beginner performers, and producers who want to add live production elements to their sets.

Main feature — built-in TR drum machines

The key difference of the DJ-202 from its competitors is the presence of built-in sounds from the legendary Roland TR series drum machines. The controller features drum kits from the TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, and TR-707 using proprietary ACB technology, which accurately reproduces the sound of the original analog modules. Each kit contains eight instruments: bass drum, snare drum, closed and open hi-hats, tom, rim, claps, and ride.

Eight pressure-sensitive pads with RGB backlighting are used for triggering drum sounds as well as controlling Serato DJ functions. The built-in 16-step sequencer allows you to program rhythmic patterns that automatically sync with the tempo of the playing track. This opens up possibilities for live remixing, creating unique transitions, and adding drum parts in real-time.

Controls and jogs

The DJ-202 is equipped with two large jog wheels that provide tactile feedback for scratching and precise track navigation. Each channel has a standard three-band equalizer and filter, input signal gain control, as well as pads for controlling hot cues, loops, rolls, and track scrolling. The faders are designed with low resistance for smooth movement.

The controller supports the use of four decks in Serato DJ Pro — you can switch between two slots on each side, allowing you to prepare the next track while the current one is playing.

Audio interface and connectivity

The built-in audio interface with a sampling rate of 48 kHz provides direct connection to a computer without the need for an external sound card. On the back panel, there are:

• Combined XLR/Jack inputs for connecting a microphone with a separate level control

• Adjustable RCA outputs for connecting to the main sound system

• Headphone jack on the front panel

Software compatibility

The controller is fully compatible with Serato DJ Lite and Serato DJ Pro. It is automatically recognized when connected via USB, allowing you to start working without complex setup. The DJ-202 is powered via USB from a computer or from an external power supply (sold separately).
